Royal Carrizo is one of six mountain communities up Hwy 74 (Palms to Pines Hwy) from Palm Desert California.  All of these communities have a Mountain Center California zip code of 92561 (approx 3000 sq miles).  Royal Carrizo is about 30 miles from Mountain Center and only 10 miles from Palm Desert.

All of the mountain communities are in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.  Royal Carrizo is technically in the San Jacinto Mountains, we are on the rain shadow side so get much less rainfall than some of the other communities.

Royal Carrizo is a small group of custom homes varying in elevation from 3000 ft to just over 3650 ft.  The Davis Vantage Pro weather station is located at 3210 ft.  As such we should be 13 degrees cooler that the desert floor.  Royal Carrizo has a unique microclimate.  It can be as much as 20 degrees cooler to 10 degrees warmer than the official weather reporting station at Palm Springs Airport. http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Palm_Springs.html or http://www.psview.com/

All of Royal Carrizo faces North-Northeast; we are able to see most of the Coachella Valley with the exception of Indio and La Quinta, as a small mountain blocks that view.  From parts of the property one can see the Saltan Sea to the Southeast and Desert Hot Springs to the Northwest, but cannot see Palm Springs as the San Jacinto mountains block that view.
